Description: White flowers bloom in late June. The fruit is beautiful, changing from green to pink to red to blue and finally to black. Leaves turn an orange-red color in the fall. Withe Rod Viburnum performs best in moist garden soil. Native range in the Chicago Wilderness region includes counties in northeast Indiana and southwest Michigan (not Illinois). The name combines "withe," meaning flexible twig, and "rod," meaning slender stem, from Old English.
