Artist Statement: Happy Trail reflects the spirit of Art of the Land by celebrating the beauty of the local landscape. Inspired by a familiar outdoor setting, the painting features a winding path bordered by grasses and trees, leading to a water pump. Through abstraction and an expressive palette of greens and purples, I interpret the landscape in a way that captures its character rather than simply its appearance.
Set in winter, the scene invites viewers to look beyond the season and appreciate the quiet beauty of the land around us. The path suggests exploration and connection, reminding us that even familiar places can offer moments of discovery and peace. This piece is my way of honoring the local environment and finding art in the everyday landscapes that surround us.
