Artist Statement: My crochet art is deeply inspired by my connection to nature and my passion for both ecology and crochet. As an ecological restoration technician, I have the opportunity to work closely with native plants, wildlife, and natural habitats. This work has strengthened my appreciation for the small details and incredible diversity found in the natural world, which I bring into my art.
I create detailed representations of wildlife through large-scale crochet tapestries. Crochet allows me to combine my creativity with my appreciation for nature, transforming a fiber art into a way of highlighting species that I believe deserve greater attention.
Through these pieces, I hope to encourage others to slow down, notice the native flora and fauna around them, and develop a greater appreciation for the natural world. My goal is to use art as another way to share my passion for conservation and inspire people to value and protect the habitats around us.”
