Artist Statement: I have always felt a special connection to forests. There is something magical about walking among the trees, surrounded by the abundance of life, the quiet beauty, and the sense of mystery that seems to exist just beyond what we can see.
In this series of paintings, I explore that feeling through layers of color and negative space. Each layer reveals a little more of the forest while suggesting the depth and mystery of what lies beyond.
For me, forests are places of wonder, reflection, and connection to the natural world. They remind me that beauty can be found in both the smallest details and the vastness of nature.
My hope is that these paintings invite viewers to pause, look a little deeper, and appreciate the beauty and mystery of our woodlands.
