Description: Ranging from 1-3 feet tall, Prairie Cinquefoil features attractive white flowers that can border on cream or light yellow. With both the stem and leaves covered in fine hairs, the plant takes on an overall light green color. It prefers dry soils, even with a gravel, sand or clay component. A long central taproot makes it very drought tolerant. It spreads somewhat by fibrous roots extending from this taproot. The seeds are very small and can be distributed by the wind, but the plant is not overly aggressive. Favorite of TLC's plant sale coordinator in her lawn-to-prairie conversion!
