The sky’s constant motion inspired my use of wavy, scattered brushstrokes that capture change and movement as living elements. As a recent BFA graduate, I’m drawn to painting landscapes that feel alive, echoing the show’s theme of land and conservation in McHenry County. I first visited the Volo Bog with my partner, who introduced me to this place from his childhood. That connection made the bog feel personal; its quiet resilience mirrors the emotional depth I seek in my art. My piece, “Bog’s Eyes,” captures the wonder of that first visit. Since then, I’ve returned often, hoping to glimpse the creatures that inhabit it.

Pickup of purchased artwork is Saturday, October 24th at 9pm or Sunday, October 25th from 10am-1pm (Door 400) at the Starline Factory, 306 N.
