Artist Statement: As an artist, I have tried various mediums, but I always find my way back to soft pastels. I enjoy the intensity of colors and the convenience of use. The intensity allows me to create a vibrancy in my work. I am known for the whimsical approach in my subject matter, though I also enjoy more conservative references, such as landscapes and portraits.
This painting represents the landscape in this region at summer’s end and fall being right around the corner.
